For over 25 years,  The Kilby Group, has been actively engaged in the field of residential real estate investment and development, commercial leasing and property management, project management and consulting.  He founded The Kilby Group in 1984 after acquiring his first residential multi-family in Woburn. Lance had been working for Cummings Properties, Inc, founded by Bill Cummings. Under Bill's close supervision, Lance learned the basic skills essential to sound, successful property management...customer service, customer service, customer service and a good product!

Prior to joining Cummings Properties, Inc. in June of 1981, Lance graduated from Boston College with a B.A. and Suffolk Law School with a J.D. Realizing that the practice of law was not for him, Lance pursued an alternative career path. The opportunity to work directly with and learn from Bill Cummings was one of huge significance and had a profound impact. During his almost 5- year tenure at Cummings Properties, Lance learned the fundamentals of customer service, prudent property management, the importance of understanding the needs of the customer and the value of a good product in the right location.

The ensuing 25 years following Cummings were filled with a series of professional assignments involving commercial property management, project management and facilities management. Lance's first assignment immediately following his Cummings experience was that of the project manager for a multi-million dollar office, R&D and manufacturing relocation of Orion Research, Inc. from Cambridge, MA to The Schrafft Center, located in Charlestown, MA.
